BINAURAL

Binaural means the ability of the auditory system to combine input from both ears to the brain.

BILATERAL

Bilateral hearing is when input from both sides to listen to sound.  People who wear two hearing aids or two cochlear implant have bilateral hearing.  For information on the benefits of bilateral cochlear implants, click HERE.

BIMODAL

Bimodal hearing is when a person listens with a cochlear implant in one ear (electrical hearing) and a hearing aid in the other (acoustic hearing).
